Angus trade steers made up to 341c/kg and heavy Angus trade steers up to 328c/kg. Heavy Hereford trade steers sold for up to 320c/kg and Angus trade heifers sold to 323c/kg.
Mr Mahony said buyers were not only from western Victoria but also from the south-east of South Australia and as far away as Gippsland.
Feedlots from Victoria, SA and NSW added to the strong competition.
