The pair are part of the Victoria Country 13-man squad that will compete at the championships in Brisbane next month.
Brown plays for Russells Creek and Wareham for Mortlake and both are fast bowling all-rounders.
While Brown can hit express speeds with the ball, a stress fracture to his back has meant his batting talents have won him a place in the team.
“I haven’t bowled for five months so I think I have been picked as a middle-order batsman,” Brown said.
“I’m pretty stoked, it would be good to play well and make the most of the opportunity.”
Brown missed some of the training sessions for Victoria Country when he took part in a three-week cricket tour of the UK with Melbourne Grammar. Brown moved to Melbourne Grammar at the start of this year to study and has begun pre-season training with Melbourne Cricket Club and hopes to win a place in the division three team to start the season.
Wareham said he excited about the opportunity.
“I had a decent run for the Western Waves at the state championships earlier in the year and I got an email to try out for the Vic Country team,” Wareham said.
“I went down to Melbourne to train five times and a couple of trial matches so it is great to be selected.
“I want to give it my best shot and see what happens.”
The Victoria Country team will be coached by former Australian test opening batsman Matthew Elliott.
Cricket Victoria is also sending a Victoria Metro team to the championships which begin on September 28 with each team to play eight one-day matches.
Elliott said it is a huge positive to have young Victorian talent exposed.
“All the coaches were really impressed with the high quality of training and the two squads that we have put together,” Elliott said.
“We’ve got two strong bowling line-ups that will be well-suited to the Queensland conditions.”
