The Rebels remain on top of the ladder but only on percentage after Gippsland Power triumphed 12.23 (93) to 12.8 (80) at Morwell on Sunday.
David Loader’s young side led by 37 points at half-time but mustered just 2.2 to 8.16 thereafter. Ezekiel Frank booted three goals to lead the Rebels’ scoring while Josh Webster, Angus Cleary and Hasker Dawborn were their best.
The Rebels return to Ballarat’s Eureka Stadium for their last two matches of the TAC Cup season, against Calder Cannons this weekend and Oakleigh Chargers in a fortnight.
They head the standings with a 12-3 record, 20.68 percentage points ahead of Dandenong Stingrays.
Meanwhile, Geelong Falcons’ march to September continued with a 15.14 (104) to 7.10 (52) win against Northern Knights at Kardinia Park on Saturday. The Falcons are fifth.
