Kardinia Childcare and Kindergarten will feature places for up to 98 children and was officially opened by member for South West Coast Denis Napthine and Warrnambool mayor Michael Neoh on Friday.
Run by Kardinia Church, the kinder is located on the former site of St John’s Primary School.
Dr Napthine said the “state of the art facility” will provide early learning and programs for three and four-year-olds.
“It is fantastic to see that local tradesman have brought new life into the former St John’s Primary site with this development,” he said.
“These additional 98 early learning placements provide surety for Warrnambool mums and dads to get back to work.”
Dr Napthine said the construction of a new centre had taken pressure off early learning facilities which were at peak capacity across the city.
