Roosters coach Nigel Kol is excited to see how his young side responds after its upset win against North Warrnambool Eagles when it plays a second Hampden league top-three side in two weeks on Saturday.
South Warrnambool plays Koroit at Victoria Park – one of the biggest assignments in the competition.
“We want to compete one-on-one,” Kol said.
“They have ace onballers and we have to work a bit better in the middle and get 50 per cent of the clearances.
“If we do that, we are in the game.”
Kol said the Saints were strong across the board.
He wants the Roosters to model themselves on their experienced opponents, which include Maskell Medallist Ben Goodall who is returning from injury.
“The thing for our kids is when they are against good players, they learn,” Kol said.
“It raises the bar for our blokes.”
