The Kolora-Noorat and Terang Mortlake export will play his 50th senior VFL game on Saturday, having crossed from Werribee at the start of the 2013 season.
Moloney cobbled 11 senior appearances in three-year stint at the Tigers.
“Collingwood was short of midfield stock. I sat down with (coach) Dale Tapping and he said ‘we’d be keen to have you’,” he said.
“I have adjusted to the standard. At Werribee it took me a bit because I was in two games and then out for five and then in for two.
“Now I am playing consistent footy.”
Moloney, 24, said training at Collingwood’s AFL base, the Westpac Centre, was a highlight and working alongside the elite players was beneficial because of “the knowledge you can extract from them”.
