Ms Jaensch and “her angels” are on the annual fundraising trek from Melbourne’s western suburbs to Portland and said the support they had been shown was amazing.
“People have been coming out and making donations and cheering us on. It’s been fantastic,” she said.
“In Geelong we were treated to dinner at the football club and then were taken upstairs and they lit up the whole stadium for us.
“There are so many little stories like that. It’s just wonderful.”
She said the walk’s Facebook page had also been flooded with messages of support from celebrities.
This year the walk is raising money for TLC for Kids, a children's charity providing practical support to sick kids and their families across Australia.
The group focuses on children who don't qualify for existing charity services, and strives to ensure that no child falls through the gap.
Among the walking group is Australian swimmer and media personality Lisa Curry, who Ms Jaensch said has been a great ambassador for the walk and the charity.
“She’s so passionate about it and the people who come out to see us love having a chat and taking a picture with her.”
The group has been averaging 53 kilometres a day and were expected to arrive in Warrnambool late Wednesday night.
“Graham Sealey is walking every single kilometre, like he does every year. He’s my Forrest Gump, an absolute machine,” Ms Jaensch said.
“We’ll be at Subway central Warrnambool on Thursday from about 12 noon and would love people to come down and maybe put a little bit of money in the tin.
“It takes just $1.20 for us to help a sick child in need.”
Ms Jaensch also invited the community to a night of entertainment on Friday at The Star of The West in Port Fairy and at The Gordon Hotel in Portland on Saturday.
“We will have a couple of tribute acts which will be great fun. We’d love to see everyone.”
