Needing to finish in the top four players not already qualified for the July major, Jones carded a one-under 71 to have a share of sixth place at seven-under.
Compatriot Scott Strange and Japan's Taichi Teshima lead at 12-under before the final round, with Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng and Japan's Tadahiro Takayama at nine-under.
