After finishing runners-up to Yambuk last year, Hawkesdale bounced back to claim the 2014/15 premiership.
The Cats got home in a thriller with Yambuk falling just short in a dramatic run chase.
Hawkesdale batted first and made 160 from its 40 overs with father and son, Kevin (26) and Matthew (20) topscoring.
Yambuk paceman Stuart Hill claimed the man of the match award thanks to his outstanding effort in taking 5/15.
But it was an even effort with the ball and an outstanding showing in the field that allowed Hawkesdale to hold Yambuk to 7/156 from their 40 overs.
Hawkesdale captain Kevin Cameron said fielding gave his team the winning edge.
“It was a extremely good win. I thought 160 was enough if we bowled and fielded well,” Cameron said.
“Our bowlers did a good job but it was our fielders who really stepped up.
“I would say we saved 30-40 runs in the field today and when you look at the final margin you can see how important that was.”
