The annual event, now in its ninth year, ran from 7am into the afternoon at Koroit’s Victoria Park, with live music, a barbecue, food stalls, car displays, car boot sales and fund-raisers.
Koroit Lions Club member and swap meet organiser Bruce Brown said the event was helped by more stalls, more people and better weather than recent years.
“We had about 20 more swap sites and more show cars,” Mr Brown said.
“Quite a few of the regular stallholders commented on it being the best one yet for sales.
“The sunshine and warm weather did us favours and it was quite busy through the gate.
“The Black Dog Ride came in from Penshurst with about 80 people and a lot of them did some shopping before heading on to Portland.”
The Warrnambool and District Drag Racing Association partnered with organisers this year, using the opportunity to increase support for plans to establish a track north of Koroit on the former racecourse.
Mr Brown said the drag club members brought out a lot of the featured cars for their promotional display.
“It was very successful partnering with them. Their contacts open fresh avenues of people we haven’t got and it gives us some extra manpower for the day.
“The extra hands are very much appreciated.”
