A group of 38 Cats visited primary and secondary schools and community groups from Simpson to Hawkesdale.
Geelong’s community development officer Jackie Caracella said the players used sessions to discuss important issues and run clinics.
She said the players were encouraging children to be active and lead healthy lives. They promoted Auskick as a starting point for fun-filled activities and then local football clubs.
Caracella said not all children wanted to play football.
“The boys were talking about the different roles they could play at a local football club because the club plays an important part in the community,” she said.
The youngsters were encouraged to stay at school and engage in their education.
Star forward Tom Hawkins and draft pick Nakia Cockatoo visited pupils at Warrnambool East Primary School. They spoke before showing off their skills.
