The guard initially planned to hang up the boots after last season on 370 games, just seven short of the all-time record held jointly by Lucille Bailie and Australian Opals great Rachael Sporn.

Down on form and playing through the pain of a fractured neck, Bibby told Fairfax Media in November she had decided to quit.

Bibby works full-time and struggled to find time to practice her shooting which had made her one of the league's most effective bench players.

But a quick tutorial from Graf before the last round win over Bendigo, where she scored 11 points in 14 minutes, gave her belief that she still has something to offer.

"I'm the first person to admit I didn't have a great year. I've probably been the best six man in the league for a while now and wasn't able to contribute what I had in the past," Bibby said.

"That shooting session before the last game showed when I can get some extra work in in my shot, I can be effective.

"We feel like we've found the formula, and Graffy wanted me to go on."

Bibby broke Michelle Timms' long-standing record for most three-pointers last season, and said it will be an emotional moment when she racks up the eight games needed to break the games mark.

"Unfinished business is a sporting cliche, but the feeling after that Bendigo game was our confidence was through the roof," Bibby said.

"[The games record] has crept up a little bit. Right now it's hard to say how I'm going to feel but it will be a special moment.

"It will be a pretty emotional thing. I played my very first game in the league with Luce [Bailie] at Dandenong."

Graf is confident Bibby can rediscover the form which made her such a crucial impact player off the bench.

"I still think she can be a spark plug," Graf said.

"She was at a moment where she wasn't feeling great with her performance and her role, but she was contracted for two years. We've had a few discussions and she'll be here next season."
