PORTLAND police are hopeful of a fruitful investigation into the theft of 100 kilograms of plums from two trees in Orchards Road, Narrawong.

Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said the theft happened between Thursday and Saturday when the resident was away.
"When she left the trees were full of fruit and when she returned it was all gone," he said.
There was also a burglary at a Foleys Road, Cashmore, property between 5pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday.
A shovel was used to force entry to a shed. Nothing is believed to be stolen.
Dumbbells valued at $50 were stolen from a flat in Rundell Avenue, Portland.
A toilet window was smashed to gain entry to the flat.
