Holidaymakers joined residents of the coastal town to complete either the 10-kilometre run or six-kilometre run/walk events on Sunday afternoon.
Organiser Shaun Murrihy said the event attracted about 350 people, down from the 420 who took part last year.
Murrihy put the drop in numbers down to the event being a week later than usual after Warrnambool’s Surf ‘T’ Surf fun run was pushed back a week.
“It was a bit down on last year but that didn’t bother us too much,” he said.
“Warrnambool put theirs back so we automatically had to put ours back, which affected numbers a little bit.
“You can’t compete with Warrnambool but it was a great day.
“There were more tourists for sure, maybe 60/40. It’s the perfect location, it starts and finishes where most of them are camping.”
Runners set off from Gardens Oval and ran along East Beach to the Moyne River inlet at Battery Hill, where they joined Griffiths Street.
The course took them along Griffiths Street back to Gardens Oval. The 10-kilometre entrants also completed a lap of Southcombe Park.
Teenager Jack Hockley-Samon was first home in the longer event in 36.05.
Jake Hetherington won over the shorter distance in 23.50 while Sue Adamson was the first walker home in 46.00.
Murrihy said feedback from participants had been “really good”.
“Over the years we’ve played with the course a little bit but it’ll stay the way it is. We’ve got the right distances, they seem pretty happy with it,” he said.
Money raised from the fun run will go to the Port Fairy FNC, although organisers will make donations to the Moyneyana Festival and the Red Cross.
