A truck driver is assisting police investigating the death of a motorcyclist in West Melbourne on Monday morning.

The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old Lakes Entrance man, died at the scene of a collision involving a truck on Appleton Dock Road at 9am.
Investigators say they believe the truck was doing a U-turn when the collision occured just south of Anderson Road.
Major collision investigation unit detectives were at the scene through the morning.
The 59-year-old driver of the truck was assisting investigators a police spokeswoman said on Monday afternoon.
