The pair will share the senior coaching duties next season with Murfett, a 200-plus game Hampden football league player, to take an onfield role. He was an assistant to non playing coach Bernard Moloney this year.
Twaddle, who was named the 2013 Hampden region coach of the year in the youth category for his work with the Eagles' under 18.5s, comes highly credentialed.
He is a former century goal kicker with Northern Districts, the forerunner to the Eagles, and has coached a variety of junior and reserves sides at Bushfield.
Twaddle is also a former Hampden junior interleague coach.
Their appointments were announced to players and the club's committee after training on Monday night.
They take over following last month's shock resignation by Moloney, who stepped down for health reasons with a year to run on his contract.
