Anglicare Warrnambool’s community development co-ordinator Louise Serra said it had received great support from the south-west arts community and the artworks donated had come from a broad range of arts genres.
The artworks include landscapes, silk screening, metal sculptures, photography and embroidery.
Among the local notable artists to contribute are silk screen artist David Higgins and painters Susan Sambell, Judy Rauert and John Moir.
“We got a great response, particularly from the Warrnambool Artists Society,” Ms Serra said.
People can view the artworks from 9am until midday from Wednesday to Friday at the Hammond Fellowship Centre at Christ Church in Henna Street and make a silent bid.
A ‘live’ auction will be held from 7.30pm on Friday at the Hammond Fellowship Centre when the silent bids will compete against those from the floor.
Funds raised from the auction will go towards Anglicare Warrnambool’s work in providing emergency relief food packages and its drop-in centre at Christ Church’s old parish hall off Koroit Street.
Other Anglicare Warrnambool programs funded through the auction include the “Get Out for Good” prisoner rehabilitation program and the South West Brick Club, a Lego playgroup.
