Netball Victoria yesterday named 51 players to attend this Sunday’s 17 and under selection trial.
The squad includes North Warrnambool Eagles midcourter Laura Lafferty and midcourter/goalie Sophie Chow, South Warrnambool defender Ally O’Connor, Portland shooter Tayla Falconer and Hamilton Kangaroos defender Emily Kermeen.
Kolora-Noorat midcourter Laura Bourke and Terang Mortlake utility Britt Hyland are among 45 invited to try out for the 19 and under team on Sunday.
Both squads will be cut to 25 after Sunday as Netball Victoria’s high-performance department ramps up preparations ahead of the national championships at the new Sydney netball centre from April 14-19.
