The seven-member Warrnambool 1 squad defeated Mount Gambier Commercial Club 7-4 in the division one final at Portland’s Royal Hotel on Sunday.
The victors trailed 4-2 after six frames but strung together five consecutive wins to secure the come-from-behind triumph.
The victorious sharpshooters were Garry Watts, Broe Shiells, John Hawthorn, Michael Tadd, Simon McCarthy, Ashley Watts and Jamie Keane.
Mount Gambier Kahunas scored a 7-6 win against Horsham 2 in the division two final, with the result going down to the last shot.
Maryborough’s Jason Smiley claimed the individual knockout tournament on Friday night, while Shiells took the Saturday honours.
Border Cup organiser Alan Geraldene said 18 teams contested the tournament.
“The sport is definitely developing now,” he said.
“It used to be localised but with the help of Garry Watts there’s a lot more inter-town events.
“They play what they call world rules now, which is a far superior game to pub rules. ”
Geraldene said organisers named all-stars in divisions one and two.
Tony Montesanto (Mount Gambier Commercial Club) led the way in division one. Simon McCarthy (Warrnambool 1), Pat Rogers (Portland Sharks), Martin Pink and Nick Pink (Mount Gambier Independent) were also recognised.
Matt Herbert (Warrnambool 3), Jayden Hinch (Horsham 2), Shane Lennon and Fed Newton (Mount Gambier Kahunas) were the division two stars.
