The four-day gala attracted 120 players — 60 boys and 60 girls — to the south-west.
They competed in two games each day, skills sessions and social activities.
Basketball Victoria Country general manager David Huxtable said Warrnambool was a great spot for the junior development program.
He said he would meet with Warrnambool City Council and Warrnambool Basketball Incorporated to discuss the potential to bring the event back to the south-west.
“We’ll certainly be in talks with both the shire and association before Christmas,” he said.
“If we’re going to do it, it needs to be planned quickly.”
Huxtable said the jamboree focused on fun and was the first step in basketball talent identification.
“It’s all about development and getting the kids on the court,” he said.
“They will make friends here that they’ll grow up in basketball with.
“The children over the days had a great experience in the south-west.
“They went to the sound and light show (at Flagstaff Hill) and had a talent night at City Memorial bowls in the function room too.”
Basketball Victoria high-performance coach Justin Schueller spoke to parents at the jamboree.
Schueller was assistant coach of the Australian under 17 team which won silver at the world cup in Dubai in August.
“Two kids in the Australian team had been to a jamboree and he told of their journey from sitting on the floor at a jamboree to five years later playing in Dubai,” Huxtable said.
