Tangalo are five “gringos” who have been showcasing new and old tango music for the past three years, earning them rave reviews and winning them invites to festivals around Australia.
Featuring flute, violin, accordion, guitar, piano, double bass and vocals, Tangalo will perform at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal from 2pm as part of a special concert sponsored by Corangamite Shire and Tuniversal Music Group.
The members of the band recently won a mentorship grant from the Australian Council of the Arts, which will see them travel to Argentina to learn from local tango maestros.
Their visit to Camperdown is part of a farewell tour before they head to Buenos Aires.
