Representatives from both clubs and match officials met with an independent investigation and disciplinary panel to discuss several incidents in the round 16 encounter, played on July 27.
The match was called off at the 20-minute mark following a collision between Warrnambool’s Nick Van Rooy and Park’s Jaike Ludwig that left the latter hospitalised.
Vic Park coach Lucas Ellis said at the time that he was unsure why play was abandoned.
Ellis, who was also present at what he described as an “information session”, said all parties had reviewed the referee’s practices during the day in question. “There hasn’t been talks of one (a follow-up meeting) — personally, I don’t think there will be.”
BDSA secretary Jeremy Irvine confirmed that the meeting was used for mediation only and did not involve handing out any sanctions.
“A report was issued into the matter, with no further action to be taken,” Irvine said.
“That’s been through the process and there’s no further sanction to be issued.”
Warrnambool was awarded the three points after leading 2-0 at the time of abandonment. - ?BALLARAT COURIER
