A TERANG man who allegedly threatened a hospital nurse while on an ice binge faces prison.

Troy Andrew Hull, 23, of Spring Dam Road, Terang, was remanded in police custody yesterday on charges of intentionally damaging property, making a threat to kill, making a threat to inflict serious injury and unlawful assault.
Police allege that on January 26 this year Mr Hull stole an iPhone from a taxi during a trip from Hamilton to Cavendish.
The victim used software to track the iPhone’s location to a home in Terang, where the mobile was found in the accused’s bedroom during a search by police. On a following occasion police allege Mr Hull arrived at the emergency department of Warrnambool Base Hospital while high on ice.
“He became agitated and threatened the nurse. He told her he would kill her,” police prosecutor Senior Constable Nathan Brown said.
Magistrate Michael Coghlan condemned Mr Hull’s actions.
“Your conduct towards the nurse was disgraceful. It’s something that happens all too frequently when people are drug-affected and they abuse health professionals,” he said.
Mr Hull is then said to have left the emergency department and walked into the waiting room.
“He grabbed a chair and threw it at a sliding glass door, causing it to crack,” Senior Constable Brown said.
On June 2 he allegedly breached a family violence intervention order during a fight with his parents. Senior Constable Brown said Mr Hull was coming off ice after using one gram a day.
On June 13 police intercepted Mr Hull in the car park of the Harvey Norman store in Warrnambool, where the accused handed over a sword he had in the car.
Police also allege that on June 15 Mr Hull rushed into his father’s bedroom during the night and grabbed him by the throat.
“He stated that he assaulted his father because he was a dog,” Senior Constable Brown said.
Defence counsel Belinda Northey said her client had ceased taking ice in May after being a frequent user for 18 months.
The magistrate warned the accused he faced prison when the matter was heard again today.
Mr Hull apologised for his actions towards the nurse, which he labelled “pathetic”.
