WARRNAMBOOL academy EKB Fitness and Aerobics has tuned up for an overseas campaign with yet more success on the national stage.
The Kepler Street-based group emerged from School Aerobics national championships on the Gold Coast with four gold and four silver medals.
“We had a really successful weekend, I couldn’t have asked for much more,” coach Emma Bellman said.
“We’ve got four national titleholders, four silver medallists and a couple in sixth. Everyone was really happy with their rounds, they were fantastic results.”
The gold medallists included Bellman, Sophie Bellman and Aylish Auchettl — collectively known as Audacity — winning the old skool trios section.
Teagan Drake and Tali Morrissey did likewise in the old skool pairs section.
Brianna Kilpatrick earned gold in the future legends solo section, finishing ahead of Bella Wallace (second) and Maddison (sixth)
Brianna, Maddison and Bella — Emma’s Angels — then combined to win the future legends trios yellow stream.
Teenager Jordan Rooke was among the silver medal winners, in the secondary male solo section.
Georgia Dalton, Stella Hose and Dayna Haberfield — Mini Groovers — finished second in the future legends trios blue stream.
And eight-member fitness team called Fierce also united in style to win silver, in the old skool teams’ section.
“The competition was crazy. Everyone had to bring it to finish where they did. It was an amazing competition to watch as well,” Bellman said.
“This is probably the best result at School Aerobics nationals we’ve had in quite some years. It was good result after good result.
“They’ve all been switched on, training really hard lately. They definitely all deserve it against very tough competition.”
Federation of International Sport Aerobics and Fitness world championships at Prague in October is the next major competition for EKB Fitness and Aerobics.
The academy will have a record 18 members compete, up from a previous mark of eight.
