Nullawarre residents will charge their teacups in a community effort to assist the council’s work in world-class research, prevention programs and support services for those affected by cancer.
One of the organisers, Lauren White, said while raising funds would remain at the forefront, community camaraderie would be strong.
“We’re hosting the event to get everyone together not only to raise funds for the cause but also to remember those lost to cancer and show support to those among our community battling the disease right now,” said Ms White.
“We know that cancer affects people in every town and city, but recently the effect on our local residents seems to be more evident.
“Some have lost their battle and others are just beginning. If we can do our little bit to help now, maybe in years to come there’ll be greater hope for those diagnosed.”
She said everyone was welcome to join the crew for a cuppa, especially children and families.
The morning tea will be held this morning at the Nullawarre Hall, from 10am.
