The operation was set up to encourage people heading away for the long weekend to plan their journey and travel safely.
Portland police sergeant Gary Trooper was happy with the public’s behaviour over the weekend.
“We hope the message is sinking in,” he said.
The four-day blitz on the state’s roads began on Friday.
The operation targets the five fatal factors — speed, fatigue, distraction, seatbelts, and alcohol and drugs — and ends at midnight tonight.
