The school stadium was filled with pupils yesterday as about 600 coloured paper hands were placed together to form letters spelling ‘reconciliation’.
Principal Peter Auchettl said most schools used Reconciliation Week as a focus of learning. “We find we get great support not only from our indigenous community but from our non-indigenous community as well,” he said.
“It’s a blending of the two communities. We’re a multicultural school with children born in 17 different countries so we do work here on different communities across the world.”
