Leishman carded a two-under 68 to be at six under, two shots behind leader, American Brendon Todd.
Leishman is one of eight players at six under heading into the third round.
In Saturday's second round, Leishman played the front nine in one under 34 before making consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th holes to grab a share of the lead.
A bogey on the last dropped him to second.
