Veal, 25, took his career-best season to new heights when he won night three of the series at Allansford's Premier Speedway on Sunday night.
Albury driver Grant Anderson ran second while pole-sitter Trevor Green, of Adelaide, was third.
Mount Gambier's Steven Lines and Warrnambool's Darren Mollenoyux rounded out the top five.
The result allowed Veal to overtake Strathalbyn driver Daniel Pestka and claim the Easter Sprintcar Trail title, having ran second and third on the opening two nights.
Veal started night three 15 points behind Pestka, who won the opening two nights. He needed to finish at least four positions higher to leapfrog him in the standings.
In a result which went down to the wire, Pestka finished sixth in the A main to just fall short. The points tally read Veal 645, Pestka 635.
Veal also won the Premier Speedway track championship, from Green and Brisbane gun James McFadden.
McFadden led entering the final night of racing at the track but was not part of the 57-car field, paving the way for Veal to overtake him.
Meanwhile, Lancefield driver Dale Walsh took out the super rod feature, from two emerging drivers in the class, Michael McDonald and Michael Coad.
EARLIER: Jamie Veal was last night closing in on a come-from-behind triumph in the Easter Sprintcar Trail.
The Warrnambool driver was to start the night three A main at Allansford’s Premier Speedway out of position four, having qualified fifth fastest and scoring a win and a fifth in his heats.
Veal entered the night trailing series leader Daniel Pestka by 15 points, 440 to 425. He needed to finish the A main at least four places higher than Pestka to claim overall honours.
Pestka had enjoyed a blazing start, winning night one at Avalon Raceway on Friday and backing up with victory on night two at Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway.
The South Australian was 18th after qualifying last night but did enough in his heats — third and fourth — to start the A main out of position 11.
Two other Croweaters, Trevor Green and Matt Egel, were off the front row, while a third, Steven Lines, was out of position three.
Earlier, the 10 heats delivered 10 different winners, including Green, Lines and Veal.
Others first across the line were Darren Mollenoyux, Tim Rankin, Matt Dumesny, Jeremy Cross, John Vogels, Glen Sutherland and Adam King.
Dumesny was fortunate to be on the track at all after battling motor issues during qualifying.
But in a remarkable show of support, his father Max, an Easter Sprintcar Trail legend, opted to give his son his motor and voluntarily end his own night, despite qualifying third fastest.
Early heat crashes featured Jack Lee and Kris Lacey. Rankin also flipped but was able to continue and start the A main out of 10.
