The 56-year-old’s name was released at the request of his family after incorrect information had been circulated.
The incident occurred at a pine plantation on Macarthur Road about 4pm on Monday.
WorkSafe officials and police have attended the accident site. WorkSafe is managing an investigation while police will prepare a report for the Victorian Coroner.
