A recent update means 164 more homes and businesses can now connect to fast fixed internet services through Telstra’s ADSL broadband network.
Telstra Country Wide Area general manager for South West Victoria Bill Mundy said he believed the network upgrade would bring a number of benefits to the local community.
“We know that in the past, some customers in Port Fairy have been frustrated that they haven’t been able to receive a fast fixed broadband service,” he said.
“We’re confident this upgrade to existing infrastructure will help us meet the increasing customer demand.”
Mr Mundy said Telstra was investing in local communities across the country to bring faster speeds and improved technology wherever possible.
