For many children, the first day of school can be a daunting experience, but for Willatook’s Reagan Habel, her first day could not come soon enough.
Kylie Habel said that her five-year-old daughter was “super excited” about her first day of prep.
“She has been asking me since Christmas how many sleeps there were until school starts,” said Mrs Habel.
Reagan will be joining her older sister Dekota at Hawkesdale P12 College.
Mrs Habel said that Dekota, who is in grade 2, was excited about having her little sister start school.
“Dekota is very excited. She told me other day that she will make sure Reagan gets to class on time.”
Hawkesdale P12 College was a natural choice for the Habel family, with both of Reagan’s parents attending the school.
“It’s a really good school. It’s nice and intimate,” said Mrs Habel.
“A few staff are still working there from when I was at the school,” she said.
Mrs Habel said the family was yet to get emotional, but did not know what the day would bring.
