Firefighters have stopped the spread of the bushfire in the Lyons area 12 kilometers south east of Dartmoor and fire activity has subsided.
The CFA says people are no longer under any threat, but ask people to stay informed and monitor conditions.
They say winds are expected to increase later this afternoon to 40-60 kilometers per hour, gusting up to 80-100 km/h which may cause the fire to flare up.
12.30pm: THE CFA has issued a Watch and Act message to people in the Glenaulin, Greenwald, Lower Crawford and Lyons area near Dartmoor in the south west following a fire outbreak.
The message was issued about 12.30pm today with the CFA saying the fire was travelling in a northerly direction from T and W Road towards the Princes Highway.
The bushfire is presently not yet under control.
A CFA spokeswoman said a wind change expected to swing winds around to the south west had yet to hit the area.
