Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said a Portland real estate agent was doing his banking late last week and found three forged $50 notes.
“We have also had reports since then of forged $50 at a local supermarket and a local shop, both in the Portland CBD,” Detective Sergeant Brown said.
“The latest one was reported to us yesterday. The notes are of poor-to-medium quality. We are asking for public assistance and advise business owners to be alert for forged currency.”
