The event has been organised by St John’s Primary School and will be held on the school grounds from 11am to 3pm.
Organising committee member Amy Holscher said Dennington’s Day Out is aimed at uniting the whole community.
“Dennington is growing so much so we wanted to put on a day to celebrate our community,” Ms Holscher said.
“It is a way of bringing the people of Dennington together to meet up and have some fun.”
A number of local clubs and groups have come on board to help the school make the event a success.
The Dennington Football Netball Club, Dennington Cricket Club, Dennington Kindergarten and the Dennington Community Association will all be part of the day.
Activities lined up include laser strike, craft stalls, showbags, a dunking machine, a barbecue, drinks, face painting, live music, dancing, basketball and Auskick clinics and a reptile show.
There will also be children’s rides with a $20 pre-sold or $25 armband available on the day giving unlimited access to the rides.
The Dennington Community Association has also put together a display showcasing the town’s history.
