More than 150 dogs and their handlers competed in 1349 runs at the Harris Street Reserve over the weekend.
Despite the majority of entrants considered working dogs, breeds ranged from border collies to Australian shepherds, Italian greyhounds, pugs, kelpies and mixed breeds.
Trial secretary Necia Lynch said all the handlers had to be very fit and the dogs well trained.
“Some of the courses are 150 metres spinning in all different directions,” she said.
“Often trainers can get a fair bit of distance from the dogs and the dogs are attuned to their body movements.”
Ms Lynch said handlers and their dogs had come from Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia.
“The weather has been very kind to us. It’s been really good,” she said.
