Camperdown dry stone waller Alistair Tune will give a talk on Sunday about the Road to Chelsea, where he was a part of Australia’s winning team.
Mr Tune’s many friends and admirers are expected to turn out in force to recognise his local and international achievements, after capturing the garden world’s imagination earlier this year.
He will give an account of his meeting with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry, as the team of landscapers and stone craftsmen received international acclaim for their billabong-inspired design featuring Australian native plants.
Mr Tune will talk about how he became interested in dry stone walls after leaving school, his apprenticeship in Scotland and his many stone wall and sculpture commissions in western Victoria.
The event will be hosted by Dry Stone Walls Association of Australia chairman Jim Holdsworth at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal, beginning at 2pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
