Peterborough man, 60, faces cannabis crop charges

A 60-YEAR-OLD Peterborough man is expected to be charged with drug offences after police executed a search warrant yesterday.

Senior Constable Kim Wheeler, of the Warrnambool police division priorities unit, said police executed a search warrant at the man’s Peterborough-Timboon Road property yesterday.

Officers found eight mature cannabis plants about 185cm tall.

A second crop of plants was also found nearby.

Police are continuing their inquiries into whether there is a connection between the man and the second crop.

Police were late yesterday expecting to charge the man with cultivating and possessing cannabis.

He was expected to be released on bail.
