Hay bale lands on ute

BOTH lanes of the Princes Highway at Pirron Yallock have re-opened after an incident this morning.

Constable Darren Busfield, from Colac police, said two large hay bales fell from the back of a west-bound semi-trailer and collided with an east-bound utility, about 11am.

He said a man in the utility walked away with no visible injuries, but was taken to the Colac hospital as a precaution.

"He's a lucky boy," Constable Busworth said.

"The vehicle was a write-off, it was a fairly large impact.

"He was a very lucky boy. Traffic was disrupted for about two hours."
