Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) and Country Fire Authority (CFA) crews have advised they are in control of the Kentbruck/ Portland-Nelson Road bushfire, which has slowed in cooler temperatures.
Warnings still apply to Mumbannar, Drik Drik, Kentbruck, Mount Richmond, Nelson, Wade Junction and Wanwin localities.
Affected national parks include the Cobbobboonee National Park, Discovery Bay National Park and Lower Glenelg National Park.
DSE deputy incident controller Andy Cusack told The Standard this morning that the fire was holding its ground.
"There's been no fresh activity," Mr Cusack said.
Rain overnight lowered the threat to Dartmoor and Drik Drik.
The fire front remains in the northern section, with winds pushing the slow moving flames in the direction of Greenwald and Lyons on the Princes Highway.
Mr Cusack said fire crews did not expect the bushfire to move past the Kentbruck Heath wetlands.
The Portland-Nelson Road has reopened, with speed restrictions between Telegraph Road and Browns Road.
However, the Winnap-Nelson road remains closed as hundreds of firefighters still battle smoke and flames along the north east flank of the bushfire.
A community meeting will be held tonight at Gorae West at 7pm at the Mount Richmond Hall next door to the fire station.
Another community meeting will take place at the Dartmoor Community Hall tomorrow at 11am, with the CFA and the DSE present.
A community information point has also been established at the Dartmoor Rural Transaction Centre on Greenham Street from today until Friday, operating between 11am and 1pm with DSE staff on site to provide updates
