Mollenoyux scored his second podium finish of the season when he placed second behind Steven Lines in round three of the series at Mount Gambier.
The result gave sprintcar fans a sense of deja vu, with the same two drivers finishing one-two in the previous round at Avalon.
Mollenoyux has 1107 points after three rounds, ahead of Brett Milburn (1064) and Matthew Reed (1020).
Simpson driver John Vogels is sixth with 911 while Lines is seventh with 834, having missed the series opener at Moama.
The Mount Gambier round was highly successful for south-west drivers.
As well as Mollenoyux, three other regional drivers placed in the top 10.
Tim Van Ginneken was fifth, Vogels was seventh — after starting from grid position 14 — and emerging Terang driver Jack Lee was 10th.
The SRA series heads to Allansford’s Premier Speedway for round four on Saturday.
Allansford will also host round six on December 22 — a night of racing which also includes the Jack Willsher Cup for formula 500s.
