The North Warrnambool Eagles netballer last night collected the 13 and under best and fairest award after polling an incredible 39 votes.
Runner-up to Kate was one of her good friends and fellow Emmanuel College student Bridget Smith, who plays for South Warrnambool and attracted 25 votes.
"We've been going to school together since I was five," Kate said.
"We're good friends.
"There's a group of about 10 of us who are friends and all play Saturday netball."
While Kate said her circle of friends didn't really discuss last night's best and fairest count, it's sure to be a popular topic of conversation today.
The 13-year-old Eagle won't be reflecting on her convincing victory too much as she has a qualifying final to worry about this weekend.
"We play Terang Mortlake," she said.
"We've beaten them both times this year but they're a very good side."
If North triumphs on Saturday, it will clash with the undefeated South in the second semi-final next weekend, with goal attack Kate likely to line-up against Bridget.
"South's a very good team and they'll be hard to beat but we've got a good team as well," she said.
"We're all friends and get along with each other, which I thinks helps."
Kate - who polled in all but three games - was grateful of Jackie Smedts, who has coached her the past three seasons since she arrived at North.
She crossed to the Eagles from South due to her older sister Sarah being pursued by the blue and gold.
While Sarah is a regular senior player for the club, Kate hopes to also earn a stint in the top grade in the coming seasons - a realistic goal seeing as the Eagles have a strong focus on promoting their talented juniors.
