Kids of all ages were captivated by the big skill and tiny bikes of the International Mini Bike Stunt Team who kept the laughs coming with their flaming death-defying stunts.
Budding scientists with curious minds, like Torquay's Aden Diamond, got stuck into the interactive exhibits using pedal power to generate electricity and making their own lava lamp.
From first timers, like three-year-old Thomas Beddoe who was stuck into the sand pit, to veteran funsters like Will Hanlon who was kicking off his third Fun4Kids with a woodwork creation, the first day excitement from all festival-goers was palpable.
The woodwork activity is always popular among boys and girls alike and as little Will focused all his attention on painting his newly assembled wooden chainsaw, his father Dean Hanlon said it was great to be back at the festival.
"Woodwork had to be the first stop, he wanted to come straight here," Mr Hanlon said.
"It's excellent, it allows him the opportunity to construct and paint and develop his concentration skills, he's really very focused."
The week-long festival continues today with shows from Fifi and the Flowertots and international circus act The Chipolatas.
