A MAN who lead police on high speed car chases, robbed a home twice while its occupants were inside and sparked a central Warrnambool man hunt after escaping police custody is in jail.

Daniel Bruce Beattie, 20, of Mt Misery Road, Orford pleaded guilty to 34 charges including aggravated burglary (2), reckless conduct endangering life (2), dangerous driving (2) and theft of a motor vehicle in Warrnambool Magistrates Court today.
While on the run, Beattie bragged on his Facebook page that he could outrun police because they ate too much McDonalds. He was later arrested at McDonalds after a tip-off.
He was sentenced to two years and six months jail, with a nine month non-parole period.
