SEASONED rockers Mental As Anything had fans dancing on the cobblestones as the sun set over Flagstaff Hill maritime village yesterday. After more than three decades of playing at venues around the world, the Aussie favourites came to the Warrnambool tourism venue as headline acts for the Day on the Hill. They followed four local bands onto the stage, overlooking the crowd of about 2500 soaking up the picnic atmosphere."It was a really great day," said Flagstaff Hill manager Peter Abbott, who aims to put more entertainment on the stage."This has the most beautiful backdrop in Warrnambool. We want to maximise the potential."We've brought the Easter entertainment weekend back from two days to one so it will be more viable."The next big event will be the lighthouse anniversary in August followed by the November maritime festival and New Year's Eve."Yesterday's entertainment started with a family theme highlighted by an Easter egg hunt with a $1000 prize.A tug of war, waiters' races and firing of the historic cannon added to the fun.
