It's not often that you make a national confession, but I have one - I love a Christmas rom com.
We may only be a few days into December, but I've already watched eight Christmas romance movies on my favourite streaming services.
Now, before you roll your eyes, bear with me for a moment.
There's a lot of bad stuff going on in the world - there's floods, fires, earthquakes, political scandals and all sorts of horrid things happening.
I reckon it's about time for some light hearted, and yes often predictable romance, with Christmas songs and scenes thrown in for good measure.
Take last night's Christmas romance that I watched.
Girl is a New York perfume expert who's sent to the Scottish highlands to buy the rights to an irresistible Scottish fragrance.
Enter stuffy, but of course handsome, perfume licence owner who doesn't want to hand over the secret family scent.
Yes it's predictable, girl met boy just short of 10 minutes into the one hour 28 minute long extravaganza, of cheesy Christmas lines and traditions, but come on don't we all want a bit of romance?
This movie ticks every box of easy going Christmas viewing - larger than life Christmas tree, skaters on an inner city ice rink and jingle those bells as the upbeat tune accompanies the opening credits.
If you ignore the fact that almost every Scottish person in the movie spoke with an English accent, it was as lovely a Christmas rom com as you're ever going to get.
Yes there may be no pending Oscar nomination for the acting, screenplay, lighting or directing, but it's my guilty pleasure and I'm sure going to enjoy it.
So as I put another bag of microwave popcorn on to cook, the only thing I'm worried about is - will there be enough Christmas romance flicks to get me through to December 25?
