The reigning division two premier has pushed through a tough initiation to the top Warrnambool and District Ladies Bowling Association pennant grade since its promotion.
But after eight rounds, City Blue finally posted a win against lowly Lawn Tennis, 64-63.
Lorraine Dakin narrowly edged out Stewart Owen, 22-21.
"They got three at the first end but after that we were in front," Dakin said.
"It was just a good game.
"We struggled to hold onto the lead at some stages."
On the final end, Dakin managed to secure two shots to Owen's one.
Dakin skips for Mary Bagg, Nina Bruce and Sally Madden.
She acknowledged the hard work of her second bowler.
"Mary's just a very consistent player," Dakin said.
"She played beautifully."
Blue's Monica O'Shea toppled Marg Fisher, 25-18.
"Two of us had finished but Beryl (Duncan) was still out there," Dakin said.
"She had to get one shot up on the last end."
Despite losing to Pat Quinn 24-17, Duncan found the shot Blue needed to secure the maiden victory.
"We were very excited," Dakin said.
Blue will confront strong club-mates City Gold next week.
Dakin said it would be difficult to snare successive wins.
"They are the top side," Dakin said.
"We will be in there trying.
"Last time they beat us by nine shot but we were lucky that day."
No side had a clean sweep of the greens yesterday.
City Green rolled Terang 70-62, Warrnambool Gold escaped the determined Port Fairy 68-60 and City Gold overpowered Timboon, 85-60.
