WHAT THE COALITION WANTS TO TALK ABOUT

* Tax cuts and their economic track record while in office. The latest election pledge will see $100 billion added to the national debt as part of a "lower tax guarantee" with no new income, superannuation, business or housing taxes if the Liberal-National coalition is re-elected.

* A $300 million package to fund a new hydrogen hub in Darwin and multiple carbon capture storage sites.

* A crime-tackling investment of $14 million in Alice Springs to improve CCTV, fund local diversionary activities, support more community patrols and a new Head to Health centre to improve access to mental health services.

WHAT LABOR WANTS TO TALK ABOUT

* A $500 million commitment to fix the veterans affairs crisis in light of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. The funding aims to cut waiting times, build new support hubs, increase veteran home ownership and boost pension and employment programs.

* 500 new Indigenous health trainees as well as up to 30 new dialysis units to treat chronic kidney disease and double federal funding to combat Rheumatic Heart Disease.

* Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says "cruel" politicians are driving Australia's national debate over transgender girls and women playing competitive sport.

* Labor promises to engage better with Pacific leaders if elected by boosting action on climate change and increasing foreign aid. It also continues to criticise the prime minister's response to the Solomon Islands security deal with China.
