
POLICE say they are "astounded" a woman wasn't injured or killed after she was clocked driving 178km/h while drunk on Friday night.
The Portland woman, 54, was intercepted by police just before 9pm at Tyrendarra East.

She was taken to the Port Fairy police station where she blew 0.142 on a breath test, almost three times the legal limit.
Station Commander Sergeant David Walkley said it was lucky no-one was injured or killed.
"I am astounded that she had driven from Melbourne and not already been involved in a collision," he said.
"I cannot describe her manner of driving as anything other than downright stupid and dangerous."
Her licence was immediately suspended and 1999 Toyota Corolla sedan impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1325.
She was be summonsed to court on speeding and drink driving charges.
