And he's making it happen.
The idea for what has now become the Let's Talk Run came after the iconic Surf 'T' Surf was cancelled for the second year in a row in October.
"The Surf 'T' Surf was cancelled for next year so I had a thought process around how do we have an event that we don't have to put a whole lot of investment of time and resources in to have an event for the Warrnambool athletics community," he said.
Months later he's brought together four south-west groups - Athletics South West Turbines (ASW), Warrnambool Little Athletics, Warrnambool Athletics Club and Let's Talk - to co-host the event on Friday January 7.
Warrnambool City Council along with numerous sponsors have also thrown their support behind the night.
The event to start at 6pm will see 400-metre, 800m, 1600m, 4x100m relay and five-kilometre races on offer at Warrnambool's Braurander Park athletics track.
Official running races are rare at the track which matched-up with Bramley's goal of hosting something out of the ordinary.
"I wanted to do something different to having a five-kilometre parkrun or a 10k race," he said.
One of the objectives of the event is to promote south-west athletics clubs.
And he highlighted it would also be a boon for ASW members who usually have to travel to Ballarat or Geelong to compete in track running in the Athletics Victoria Shield League.
Just as important to Bramley is raising awareness about mental health and he's thrilled it's called the Let's Talk Run.
Let's Talk is a charity which raises awareness around the need to talk about mental health.
"We wanted to have that messaging around mental health and well-being due to COVID," Bramley said.

He was quick to point out that while the event will offer serious runners the chance to compete, fun is the overarching aim of the night.
There'll be food and a DJ pumping music in the background.
"We're trying to make it an event where participants and their families and friends can come and enjoy the night," he said.
For example, he said the 4x100m could see one footy/netball club versus another.
The inaugural event could be the first of many to come in the future.
"We are certainly looking at making this an annual event," he said.
Registration is via the Warrnambool Athletics Club website and participants are encouraged to pre-register at this website.
Cost to compete for the night is $10 for adults, $5 for juniors.
